Once again we're holding our Summer Afternoon Tea in The Garden Room Café at Fairways Garden Centre, Clifton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire DE6 2GN. This is on the main A515 Ashbourne to Sudbury and Lichfield road, about two miles from the centre of Ashbourne with lovely views over the Derbyshire countryside.

The café is on the first floor and there is a modern lift behind the stairs. Tables will be reserved for our informal tea, so just look for the MED sign on the table and that's where we'll be. On this occasion we have decided not to arrange a set tea so you will be able to choose whatever you wish and settle up at the counter at the time of ordering. So, whether you fancy just a cup of tea or something rather more filling, do come along and enjoy a pleasant, relaxing chat with MED friends old and new. All the food there is home made.

There is plenty to see (and buy - if you wish!) at Fairways and you can do as much or as little as you wish whilst you're there. No specific activities are planned during the afternoon other than our informal gathering for tea and a chat from about 2.30pm. However, if you fancy spending a little longer in this very pleasant part of West Derbyshire, you will not be far from Sudbury Hall (National Trust) with its recently updated Museum of Childhood, Dovedale, Tissington, Carsington Water and, of course, the delightful town of Ashbourne.
